“'BEM EFICENTE AWARD' 1999, 2002, 2005 AND 2006”

The social entities that demonstrate work and performance in their functioning areas, within a professional and competent structure, that operates with low administrative costs with transparency and external supervision and that guarantee the perpetuation of a beneficent entity, are publicly recognized with the Prêmio Bem Eficiente (“Very Efficient Award”). This prize is granted every year by Kanitz & Associates (“Kanitz e associados”) for 50 beneficent entities well managed in Brazil. Each one of the entities was analyzed with 42 evaluative criteria, according the international standards in the area of welfare, which include organization, financial, efficiency, transparency and ethics in the carrying out of their activities.

The Very Efficient Prize is one of the strictest of the area, and an audit company called Price Waterhouse Coopers auditors evaluate the results. The evaluation and selection criteria of the prize, as well as the inclusion rules are managed by a Board of Supervisors, formed by renowned specialists in the areas of administration, law, finances and evaluation of welfare organizations. The prize is sponsored by Accor Brazil, Dibens Bank, DM9/DDB, Firmenich, Intermédica Health System, Americanas Store and Natura, all of whom believe in the pursuit and efficiency of actions that have the purpose of ransoming citizenship and social values. Instituição Beneficente Israelita Ten Yad concurred with more than one hundred entities and was evaluated according and transparency aspects, as well as for the social impact of its programs.

The "Very Efficient Prize 1999" was granted to "Ten Yad as one of the "50 Best Beneficent and non profitable Entities of 1999" chosen by the board of supervisors for its work and exceptional performance, with a professional, organized and limpid structure towards its donors. The "Very Efficient Prize 1999" introduces "Ten Yad" to civil society as an excellent example in the area of welfare, thus accomplishing thus their slogan "An action is better than a thousand sighs" "Hayom Yom".

"Ten Yad", chosen as one out of the 50 winners, received the Very Efficient Prize 1999 on June 1st, at the Casablanca Auditorium of Meliá Hotel/Convention Center in São Paulo, in a very touching ceremony, especially for the leaders of the awarded entities, people coming from far away states and municipal districts of the country. Mrs. Maria Lúcia Alkmin, wife of the vice-governor of the State of São Paulo, acted as official government representative..

We were chosen as one of the 50 best managed beneficent entities in Brazil, deserving the Very Efficient Prize 2002. The Very Efficient Prize 2002 has the purpose of publicly recognizing the beneficent and non-profitable entities that demonstrate work, performance and transparency with professional structure, with an obvious effort to implant a Third increasing and sustainable Sector. The "Ten Yad" was analyzed according 42 evaluative criteria, within international standards, in the area of welfare, and disputed with more than 351 entities in Brazil. The Very Efficient Prize 2002 has the aim of stimulating and announcing philanthropy in Brazil, in order that beneficent iniciatives be recognized and calls the attention of the society for the solution of the social problems.
